We are still in the middle of the migration process. The data center made a few mistakes while swapping uplinks, which has delayed progress.

As a result, NYC is currently experiencing some routing issues, since Chicago serves as one of the main routing hubs for that location.

We’re actively working with the data center to resolve this and will keep you updated. Thank you for your continued patience.

As of now, it is 04:23 AM CT on April 17 — maintenance will begin shortly.

All affected clients have been notified via email. We will do our best to provide a final warning before any brief outages occur, as remote data center technicians will be swapping fibers and hardware on our behalf.

Thank you for your understanding and patience.

We will be conducting scheduled maintenance at our Chicago location to further expand capacity. This is part of our ongoing infrastructure improvements, as Chicago has become our largest deployment hub for 2025, alongside Frankfurt.

The maintenance is scheduled to begin at 04:00 AM Central Time, during off-peak hours. During this time, one of the racks will be temporarily taken offline as we add additional capacity, redundancy, and uplinks.

This is expected to be one of the final emergency maintenance operations for Chicago, with these upgrades supporting projected growth well into 2025 and 2026.

We appreciate your understanding and continued trust in our services.

No downtime has occurred yet. We will notify you before the maintenance begins.

The maintenance window spans several days purely as a precaution, since this involves a major core hardware replacement and requires on-site engineers flying in to assist.

Our new hardware is ready and fully configured. We will proceed with the replacement, which will cause a brief downtime.

We’re currently emailing all clients regarding this. As previously discussed two months ago, this upgrade will significantly improve latency and performance.

The downtime is expected to be minimal. This is part of a long-overdue core hardware refresh—similar to the investment made in Frankfurt a year ago.

    Hello everyone,

Due to the rapid expansion of our Chicago infrastructure, an emergency network hardware upgrade is required to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and stability. The new hardware we discussed on Discord has arrived today, and we are starting the migration process.

    Hardware Upgrade Details:

We are replacing legacy switching hardware with a higher-performance, low-latency solution designed for modern data center workloads. This upgrade significantly enhances network speed, reliability, and efficiency:

Increased Throughput: The new hardware supports a much higher switching capacity, significantly improving performance over the previous setup.

Higher Bandwidth: Upgrading from 1GbE connectivity to 10GbE per port, allowing for greater traffic flow and reduced bottlenecks.

Lower Latency: Moving to a cut-through switching model, reducing latency to sub-microsecond levels, improving responsiveness for all services.

Improved Traffic Handling: Enhanced buffering, packet forwarding, and congestion control ensures more efficient data movement, even under high load.

Better DDoS Protection & Failover: The new setup provides faster mitigation of unwanted traffic and redundant failover mechanisms for increased network resilience.

Scalability & Stability: This upgrade is designed to handle significantly higher traffic loads, ensuring a stable and future-proof network for Chicago's continued expansion.

    Maintenance Details:

Only a few racks will be temporarily affected, but no major downtime is expected.

The previous maintenance one month ago was data center-related. This one is specific to VYKIX/VxShield hardware.

Migration will take place during morning US hours to minimize disruptions—no downtime will occur during peak hours.

The transition will be gradual to avoid service interruptions.

This upgrade is a necessary step to ensure long-term stability, increased capacity, and improved network performance as our Chicago infrastructure continues to grow.

A second announcement will follow shortly, specifying the exact date and time of the hardware upgrade.

Thank you for your patience. If you have any questions, let us know.
